ClearRoad is building infrastructure-lite congestion pricing solutions, a GPS app that could save cities millions and create new revenue streams for municipalities in the post COVID world. In addition to being a tool to manage traffic and respond to climate change, ClearRoad is also considering negative congestion pricing schemes for essential or marginalized workers, creating a new tool for cities to build equity with their poor/marginalized citizens. Empowering governments can help them respond to any crisis or changes to policies synchronously and tap into a myriad of solutions to traffic, funding, and mobility problems.
Thesis Fit
ClearRoad is building the platform to track and price road usage on a global scale. GPS powers the company’s app and pricing engine to help support the shift of government funding away from gas taxes and towards infrastructure utilization. ClearRoad is an excellent example of a specialized application that leverages the GPS stack to improve user experience, reduce costs, and shift tolling infrastructure into the 21st century.
